Gov. Rick Snyder lowers flags in honor of fallen Beartown Firefighters

Gov. Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags to be lowered to half-staff Wednesday, August 31 and Thursday, September 1 on all state buildings and within the state Capitol complex in honor of James Shelifoe, Jr. and Alan Swartz, firefighters with the Beartown Fire Department who died Saturday, August 27.

CACC Classes Start August 29

The Capital Area Career Center will begin classes for the 2016-2017 school year on Monday, August 29, 2016. Both AM and PM classes will be held August 29-September 1. Busing will be provided from our local districts to and from the Career Center. Classes will not be in session on Friday, Sept. 2 and Monday, Sept. 5 in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

Culinary Arts Students Offered Over $500,000 in Scholarships

Fourteen students from the Culinary Arts & Hospitality program at the Capital Area Career Center (CACC) recently traveled to San Diego, California for the Family, Career & Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) national leadership conference. Students competed in a variety of categories, earning 4 gold medals, 2 silver medals and one bronze medal. Additionally, because of how they scored, the students were offered $501,500 in scholarship opportunities to a variety of colleges.

2015-16 Early On Annual Report

Early On is a coordinated system of early intervention services mandated by Federal legislation (Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act).  It is designed to assist families in accessing and coordinating social, health and educational services that will promote the development of their young child with a disability or developmental delay under age three.

Ingham ISD Teacher Appears on Jeopardy! as Part of Teacher’s Week

On the evening of May 10th, William “Bill” Knuth, a teacher at Ingham Intermediate School District (Ingham ISD), gathered with family and friends in Williamston to watch his final appearance on Jeopardy!. Knuth was competing in one of the two semifinal rounds as part of the show’s Teacher’s Week Tournament.
